Edgar Barigye Kugonza is the Founder and CEO of Twende Kazi, which he started from his house in the outskirts of Kampala,Uganda in 2016.As a vision bearer and a passionate farmer, he is full time volunteering at Twende Kazi where he does most of administrative works which include mentoring both part time and full time supportive staff and guiding them to appreciate the vision of the organization. He makes major corporate decisions, manages the overall operations and resources of Twende Kazi, acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and operations of the organization. In addition to running the organization and team building, he is also actively involved in the search for both national international partners who share the same vision and can enable the organization to successfully execute its objectives. He helps in maintaining the organization’s statutory books, filing annual returns, arranging meetings of the directors, taking and producing minutes of all the organization’s meetings and the decisions taken, ensuring the security of the company’s legal documents, including for example, the certificate of incorporation and memorandum and articles of association, advising directors on their duties, and ensuring that they comply with corporate legislation and the articles of association of the organization.
He helps in maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures, organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings, documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings, preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings, ensuring that project deadlines are met, determining project changes, providing administrative support as needed, undertaking project tasks as required, developing project strategies, ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project, assessing project risks, issuing and providing solutions where applicable, ensuring that stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution, chairs and facilitates meetings where appropriate and distributes minutes to all project team members creates a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective among other duties.
She develops, co-ordinates and leads sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet the needs of our activities, she develops and administers contract management plans, negotiates changes and modifications, supplier performance management and compliance requirements through effective supplier relationships to quality of items procured, plans and leads contract negotiations in the establishment and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes, partners with staff from across the organization providing high level advice and guidance to build expertise in procurement, provide governance and improve procurement practice and outcomes, identifies, manages and mitigates procurement risks to enable the organization to meet its obligations and maximize service delivery. She documents procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements fully to provide an audit trail for probity and audit purposes.
